McGee honored at Arlington National Cemetery

Brig. Gen. Charles E. McGee, one of the original Tuskegee Airmen and Air Force legend, was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington June 17. McGee passed away Jan. 16, 2022 at the age of 102.

Last of Doolittle Raiders memorialized

Remembered as a man who faithfully served his country and was a devoted father and a man of faith, Lt. Col. Richard “Dick” Cole, the last of the Doolittle Raiders, was honored and posthumously promoted to the rank of colonel during a Sept. 7 ceremony at the Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston Golf Course ballroom.

Air Force revises wing, vice and group command screening board process

This year, the Air Force implemented a revised process for the 2022 wing, vice and group command screening boards to streamline notification, align more closely with joint partners and enhance senior leader talent management. Approximately 24% of all O-6 positions are command billets and half of the 780 command positions come vacant each year.

Brown says China’s challenge must be met with speed, focus and commitment

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr. told an influential audience Aug. 6 at the National Press Club that the Air Force and the nation must respond with speed, focus and commitment to China’s emergence and other global security threats just as it did 20 years ago following the 9/11 attack.
