CP26 is rebranding, unveiling new initiatives for the Civilian Corps

WASHINGTON (Oct. 6, 2014) --Career Program 26 -- Manpower and Force Management (CP26) announces plans to update its Army Civilian Training, Education and Development System (ACTEDS) Plan by the end of the year. Updates to the CP 26 ACTEDS plan will include an overview for civilian career program management within Manpower and Force Management as well as a logical framework for developing core competencies required of Manpower and Force Management professionals.

La. medevac crew rescues stranded EULEX members using helicopter hoist

CAMP BONDSTEEL, Kosovo (Sept. 20, 2014) -- A medevac crew from Multinational Battle Group-East's Southern Command Post put their hoist training to the test during a real-world event, which aided in the rescue of two European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) members. U.S. Army Soldiers with F Company, 2nd Battalion, 135th Aviation Regiment, Louisiana National Guard, rescued the two security officers who became stranded on a cliffside in Albania, Sept. 20.

Army, Air Force move data over same network for first time at Joint Base San Antonio

This month, the Army and Air Force achieved major network security and capacity upgrades at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, in partnership with the Defense Information Systems Agency. This is the first Department of Defense location to achieve the pairing of new switching technologies and security stacks. In addition, network speed for end users has increased dramatically.

Army establishes U.S. Army Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Academy

The Chief of Staff of the Army directed analysis of a centralized SHARP Academy to institutionalize the training, competence, and professionalism of our Sexual Assault Response Coordinators, Victim Advocates, and SHARP Program Managers. The Secretary of the Army has directed that this school will be established at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, the nexus of commander and leader development for the Army.
